About Us

Our History

RTS Retreading Systems was founded in 1995 in eastern Montreal by Alberto Borella. A pioneer in North America, RTS was the first retreader to offer Ringtread technology, developed by Marangoni, a global leader in tire retreading. The exceptional quality of the product quickly drove high demand, leading RTS to relocate in 1997 to a larger 30,000 sq. ft. facility in Ville LaSalle, in the southwest of Montreal.

Thanks to continuous investments in cutting-edge equipment and an unwavering commitment to quality and customer service, RTS established itself as one of the most important retreaders in Quebec. Its success contributed to the opening of more than 25 Ringtread retreading plants across North America.

In 2022, RTS became RTS Canada after being acquired by Martin Collet and Trevor Schotsman, who introduced a new vision focused on innovation, sustainability, and the integration of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence. Driven by the ambition to redefine the future of commercial tire retreading, they led a major transformation to restore RTS to the level of excellence that built its reputation. Today, RTS Canada empowers fleets to embrace sustainability through its innovative, seamless retreaded tires, extending tire lifespan, reducing reliance on natural resources, and supporting a local, circular, and green economy.

Committed to its mission, RTS Canada drives sustainable growth by implementing bold economic strategies and influencing consumer behavior. The company aims to position Canada as a global leader in reuse and retreading, while fostering local employment and strengthening a dynamic circular economy.

More than 80% of airplane tires are retreaded and can be retreaded up to 7 times! It’s an excellent example of sustainable and economical technology in the aerospace industry.

The first retreading of heavy truck tires was introduced in the 1920s! A century later, it has become a cornerstone of the transportation industry.

Each year, about 1.75 billion tires reach the end of their life worldwide, which is more than 3,300 per minute.
